Field report

Name of the project: Advent get-together with senior citizens

Date: 29.11.2023

Name: Julia E.

Why did you participate in the project?

I took part in the project because older people in particular suffer from loneliness at Christmas time and miss their families and friends especially. That's why I wanted to make a small contribution so that at least a few people could feel less lonely or simply spend a few varied hours together eating cookies, listening to music and having a few nice conversations.

What did you like most about it?

I particularly enjoyed the conversations with the senior citizens. Many of them talked about their families, their lives in the past or wanted to find out about our lives. It was nice to hear that they were happy about our visit.

What did you maybe not like so much?

There was nothing I didn't like about the Social Day.

How important is volunteering to you?

Volunteering is very important to me, as everyone can make a contribution to society, no matter what form it takes. After all, we are all a part of it.

What do you take away from the project?

How important family and friends are. And that we could all call our parents or grandparents more often again. ๐Ÿ˜Š
